A Path Though the Waves

Our dossier is on the way to Bulgaria, probably somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean right now! It should arrive in Sofia on Thursday! We are so excited and thanking the Lord for clearly showing us what to do today so that this could happen! By getting the apostilles done ourselves and hand-delivering everything to our agency in Birmingham, we were able to shave off a couple of very, very precious days! Each day makes a difference! Thank You, Lord, for going before us today and making the rough places smooth...

Hank was checking out the path over the Atlantic Ocean. If you look closely, you can tell his destination was a little bit off. No, we're not adopting from Saudi Arabia, Yemen, or the United Arab Emirates! :) He was looking for Bulgaria, and eventually he found it! This little 4-year old of mine is SO EXCITED about his "little sister" and he has watched her video even more times than I have! Thank You, Lord, for how you are at work in each of my little boys' hearts, softening them and preparing them to have S as a sister!

Please pray that this next step of the process (translating, authenticating, and submitting our dossier to the Bulgarian government) will go smoothly and quickly. There are lots of little things and a few big things that need to fall into place, and we are trusting the Lord to continue to carve out the path for us to bring S home soon!

This is what God says,
the God who builds a road right through the ocean,
who carves a path through the pounding waves...
"Forget about what's happened;
don't keep going over old history.
Be alert. Be present. I'm about to do something brand-new..."
Isaiah 43:16, 18-19

A few days ago, I read a great, little quote by my favorite theologian, Charles Spurgeon. He said that "waiting implies being ready." I love that!!! We are waiting, Lord, trusting that Your timing is best! But, boy, are we ever ready!!!

  1. What an exciting day! While you were in Birmingham today, Hank and I sat at the computer looking at google maps until he found Bulgaria. :) I love seeing the excitement and hopeful anticipation of your boys. Their childlike faith blesses my heart!

  2. I will be praying for everything to go quickly and smoothly so that you can travel soon. I can't wait to see pictures of sweet Sophi with a mama of her very own.
