For God so loved S that He sent His only Son Jesus to be her rescue. Our hope for her little life is that one day she will believe in Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Our prayer is that this precious little girl, who is unable to communicate, will one day call out on the name of Jesus. We desire for S to know more than anything that she is deeply loved, chosen, accepted, and fearfully and wonderfully made by a Father whose love is perfect and far-reaching and never changing!
This same Father so loved us that He rescued us from a life of living for ourselves. He chooses to include us in His mission here on earth. Today we witnessed His grace and mercy. We saw Him go before us and begin to smooth the rough places. A day that started with anxiety, doubt, fear, and tears was transformed into a day of trust, peace, and certainty of our Father's hand. We saw a smile. We heard a laugh. We even heard a word.
In she walked, a little ragamuffin wearing overalls. With one look, she walked straight up and grabbed the hands of another ragamuffin (her new momma). Y'all, this girl is spunky. Watch out Blackmon boys. S can climb. She can throw. She can eat (she LOVED her animal crackers). She can learn (she figured out a straw). She can protest. She can be persistent. She can enjoy. She can be held. She can become all that the Author of this story intends!!!
Thank You, Father, for this little girl. Thank You for choosing us to be her Momma and Daddy! Thank You for holding our hands today. We are not able, but You are!!!
This is the Lord's doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:23-24
