Momma and Daddy are so thankful for this week that we got to spend with you. We had such a good time playing with you, and I can't even begin to tell you how special it has been to hear the sound of your sweet laughter!
Before we met you, we didn't know if we would even see a smile this week, much less hear so many giggles! We had no clue what to expect, and tonight we are praising the Lord for how He has already begun to fill your little spirit with joy! You are a joy to your Momma and Daddy, and we cannot wait to come back and bring you home!
One of the biggest blessings this week was seeing how affectionate you became toward me and your Daddy! We loved giving you kisses and seeing you snuggle into our arms! I think your biggest smiles this week and your loudest laughs were when your Daddy was tossing you in the air! Right now, I am remembering how you were holding on to him so tightly when you knew it was time for us to go! You put your head on his shoulder and when the social worker came to get you, you pushed her hand away and made a sound that we had never heard before. The social worker was so surprised and quickly said, "she's talking!". You didn't want us to leave!!!
Today we heard you make so many new sounds, and we watched in amazement as you imitated us! You are going to learn so much when you come home, and we cannot wait to see all that the Lord has in store for your life! Your Daddy and I have so much to learn too, and we are trusting the Lord to give us the wisdom, grace, patience, and energy we will need to be the Momma and Daddy to so many little hearts! :)
Tonight, your Daddy and I both are so tired! We have so many things going through our minds, and our hearts are so full! We are counting down the hours until we finally get home and can love on your 4 brothers! We have missed those boys so much, and I cannot wait to get my arms around them! They are going to love seeing all of your pictures and videos, but I'm pretty sure their favorite one is going to be of you eating your chocolate teddy grahams! Even as excited as we are to catch up on our hugs and kisses from Web, Palmer, Hank, and Barrett, it is bittersweet and so very hard to leave you behind! Tonight I keep thinking about your sweet face and chocolate lip kisses! I still can see your little head peeping through the door as we waved bye-bye! We miss you already!
It has been a hard day, full of so many mixed emotions! There is so much more that I want to say and share, but I know it's going to take a little time for me to process all the things that the Lord has been teaching me! I am so thankful for how the Lord is using your life to teach me more about my Father's heart! Every day on our way to visit you, I would always pray that the Lord would pour out His love into my heart and that He would grow my love for you more and more! He has faithfully answered this prayer! I love you so much, and the really neat thing is that I love your brothers and your Daddy even more too! God's love is amazing! I kept whispering into your little ears this week how much God and Jesus love you, and tonight I am praying you will be able to rest in His perfect love! I know there is so much that must be so hard to understand, but I know that you are not alone! Jesus is with you, sweet little one! I'm praying for you and hope you have a good night's sleep!
These are the very words that Jesus said to His friends when He knew that He had to leave them behind for a little while! I'm thankful that He brought these verses to my mind today and for how He reminded me that He understands just how your Daddy and I feel!
Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. Jn. 14:1-3
S, we will be back to get you in just a few months! We are preparing a place for you in your new home! We will be getting everything ready! We will come again! We are praying that it will happen sooner than anyone could imagine! See you soon, pumpkin!
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace... Rom. 15:13
XOXO, Momma and Daddy
