Coming to Life

The highlight of the day, by far, was seeing this sweet smile! It appeared on her face much more frequently than yesterday, and I can't even begin to describe how priceless it was to see this little girl coming out of her shell!

With each visit, Faith has increasingly become more alert, more responsive, more observant, and much more engaged! We've seen a shy, nervous, and overwhelmed little girl blossom right before our eyes, and it has been so encouraging to see her let the walls begin to come down. We've witnessed how she has opened up her heart to receive our love and affection, and as a result, a playful, sweet, and spunky little girl full of giggles has shown up!

    Today - Such a difference!!!

There is so much more that I want to share with you about Faith Ana, but, tonight, I'm going to let the pictures from our day tell the story! It's a story of His faithfulness and a glimpse of His goodness, and I know that I keep saying this, but it is so true. I am so incredibly humbled to be part of this story and blessed to be this precious child's Momma!

Here's a few more quick highlights from our visits today:

• I was able to see Faith move around much more than I had originally imagined that she was capable of doing. She could change from a sitting up position to a laying down on her back position to a propped up with her arms on her tummy position, all with relative ease. Yes, her little body is very broken and contorted, but I was so thankful to see how she was able to move around! This was extremely encouraging! She is even able to  navigate her wheelchair all by herself!

    Hey Daddy! Another future golfer...

• I was impressed with how well she uses her hands. Today, we colored with markers, played with stickers, stacked {and knocked down} blocks, bounced a ball, and looked at books! Her fine motor skills are much more developed than I had anticipated!

• Toward the end of each of our visits we heard her sweet little voice more and more. We know that she is able to speak, but with the exception of a few words, we have heard her say very little. And then, out of the blue, unprompted, she began to sing a little song! It was priceless!

• She loved looking at the pictures that I had brought in her little photo book. She was especially fascinated with Evie! I think she likes babies!!!

• I found her tickle spot, and it was so fun to hear her laugh and giggle.

I am praying tonight that she knows deep in her heart that her Momma delights in her and had such a fun time spending the day with her!

With a thankful heart, giving Him all glory...

Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day. Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples, for great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised...

Psalm 96:1-4
